Product Description Aspire 1 recalls the work of Canadian-American artist Philip Guston whose mid-career paintings were firmly situated in Abstract Expressionism before going on to develop an influential style of cartoon realism. Aspire 1 straddles both artistic styles by offering an abstract scene inhabited by non-objective shapes that seem to have a life of their own. Structurally, this work is marked by the vertical stacking of various shapes outlined by heavy lines that provide emphasis. A diverse color scheme in olive drab, ultramarine blue, brick red, cerulean, and bright white adds to the work’s playful vibe.
